Polimekanos is a design practice based in London. It was founded in 2001 by Joseph Kohlmaier and Stefan Kraus. We work across a variety of media and formats in graphic, interactive and exhibition design, from simple leaflets or posters to catalogues, book designs, websites, large scale corporate identity and brand developments, or the signage system in buildings.

We are often involved in the development of projects at an early stage, helping to develop the initial idea as well as the structure and the processes that allow its implementation. At the starting point of our work lies a strong engagement with content and research which preceeds all design.

Our clients include individuals and small businesses, as well as institutions in the corporate, educational and cultural fields, like universities, museums and charities.

Our interests have lead us to work in areas related to, but also beyond our core practice. We have undertaken curatorial work and have held teaching assignments; in 2005, we started a co-operation with publisher Hyphen Press (see projects), and develop other projects which allow us to pursue our interests and practice in architecture, music, sound, fine art and other disciplines.
